Check Hard Drive Space

If your hard drive is full then this might be cause the slowness of your computer. So make sure that your PC’s hard disk has at least 15% free space. It is recommended to keep at least 15% of the hard disk space free to keep the computer running smoothly. If you PC’s hard disk has not 15% free space then remove some unnecessary files and programs.

                                     

To check hard drive space simple open my computer, Right click on hard drive and select properties and you can see a pie chart your hard disk free and used space.

Disable unnecessary startup programs

When you start your computer then many applications try to start at the same time, which might be cause of this problem. So disable all unnecessary startup programs to make your computer run fast. Follow the below steps to do that.

              

Open Run (Windows key + R) and type msconfig and then hit Enter. Now switch to Startup tab and uncheck all unnecessary startup programs and then click on OK. After that it will ask to Restart the system and restart your system.

Use a good antivirus and update regularly

If you are an internet user then you must have a good antivirus in your system, because presence of virus often leads to slowing down of your computer. But having a good antivirus in the system is not enough if you don’t update its database regularly. So make sure you have a good antivirus and keep update regularly to make your PC run faster.

Remove temporary files and folders

Sometimes lots of temporary files and folder leads to slowing down of a computer. So remove all temporary files and folders from your computer. To remove temporary files and folder open Run and type %temp% and hit enter. Now delete all files and folder to make your PC run faster than before.

Run a disk Defragment

This will reconfigure the way the hard drive stores information for maximum efficiency of the system. So defragment your hard disk to make your computer run faster. To run disk defragment Go to my computer, right click on hard drive and select properties. Now switch to Tools tab and click on Defragment Now.
